Anna Jeans

     Anna Jeans, 73, Ft. Scott, KS, formerly of Deerfield, MO, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO following a lengthy illness.  She was born March 16, 1936 in Deerfield, MO to Clarence Brock and Gladys Ripley Brock.  She was married in Nevada, MO to James Thomas Jeans in 1956 and he preceded her in death August 11, 2009.

     Mrs. Jeans was born and raised in this area and spent virtually her entire life in the Deerfield and Richards, MO area.  She attended Ft. Scott Junior College, Ft. Scott, KS for two years.  She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm for a lifetime.  She participated in many community activities.

     Survivors include one son, Wayne Jeans and his wife Pauline, Richards, MO; two daughters Lou Ann Kissock and her husband Brian, Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and Pamela Jeans, Columbia, MO; five grandchildren Jenna Kissock and Jason Kissock, both of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and Chase Jeans, Zachery Jeans, and Chelsey Jeans, all of Richards, MO; one brother Jack Brock, Deerfield, MO.

     A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO with Pastor Bill Platt officiating.  Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, MO.

     Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
