Jerry L. Bobbett

Jerry L. Bobbett, 63, Nevada, MO, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 25, 1946, in Nevada, MO, to Frederick Buford Bobbett and Betty Jean Carroll Bobbett. He married Lielani M. Cox on June 20, 1965, in Nevada, MO, and she survives of the home.

Jerry attended school in El Dorado Springs, Lamar, and graduated from Nevada High School in 1964. He worked for Dahmer Electric for a number of years. He then managed Nevada T.V. Cable for 16 years. He later returned to being an electrician working in St. Joseph, MO with the BEC Electric Co., then the AEC Electric Company. He was currently employed by Cash’s Quality Electric in Nevada at the 3M Plant. He was a member of Bushwacker Squares Squaredancing Club.

Survivors in addition to his wife Lielani, include one son, Kevin Bobbett and his wife Sandy, Nevada, MO, one daughter, Karrie Hold, Nevada,; four grandchildren, Ryan Bobbett and his wife Cami, Megan Bobbett, Kayla Hold, and Karly Hold; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Trevor Bobbett; his mother, Betty J. Bobbett, Nevada; one brother, Rick Bobbett and his wife Patricia, Nevada, one sister, Sherrie Simpson and her husband Carl, Butler, MO; his great-aunt, Inez Bobbett, Nevada, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
