Mildred Louise Cherry

     Mildred Louise Cherry, 94, Nevada, MO passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, MO following a lengthy illness. She was born June 6, 1915 in Strafford, MO to Jack Archer and Mary Coffman Archer.  She was married March 12, 1934 in Ft. Scott, KS to Murl Thomas Cherry and he preceded her in death October 24, 1966.

     Mrs. Cherry was born and raised in Southwest Missouri and spent most all of her adult life in Vernon County, MO.  She owned and operated Mode-O Day clothing store in Nevada for many years, and later worked at the Nevada State Hospital retiring in 1981.  She was a member of the Nevada First Christian Church.

     Survivors include two sons, Jack Cherry, Buffalo, MO, and Tom Cherry, Tuscumbia, MO; two daughters, Kathryn Carroll, Bartlesville, OK, and Bid Quarton Conway, Carthage, MO; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and one sister, Fern Galloway.

     Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
