Evelyn Mariola Emery

       Evelyn Mariola Emery, 102, Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Evelyn was born September 28, 1918 in Moundville, MO to Christie C. and Edith (Park) Franks. She was united in marriage to Marvin K. Emery on June 9, 1946 at the Centenary Methodist Church in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1993.

     Evelyn attended Nevada High School and graduated Class of 1936.  Following her marriage to Marvin they made their home in Nevada. She worked as a babysitter, a clerk at the Kress Store, and as a cashier at J.C. Penney Company. In 1958, she went to work in the Medical Records Department of the Nevada State Hospital, retiring in 1982.  It was a job she really enjoyed, and she and her husband could drive to work together because he was also employed by the State Hospital. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada.

     Evelyn enjoyed her time at Moore-Few Care Center and the kindness of their staff.

      Evelyn is survived by nieces, Joyce Plank (Jim), Raytown, MO, Janet Altschul, (Joshua), Arlington, TX, Edie Franks, Bates City, MO, and Ruth Mische, Nevada, MO.  Several great nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her husband, Marvin, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Newell Wilson Franks.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Sharon Freeman officiating.  Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

     Memorials are suggested in her memory to the United Methodist Church or American Heart Association c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
