Joy Moore

      Joy Diane Moore, 62 of Nevada passed away Sunday evening February 10, 2019 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Joy was born April 26, 1956 at Nevada City Hospital the daughter of Gerald P. Moore and Twilia (Hendrix) Moore.

     Joy grew up in Nevada attending Nevada Schools. She was once married to Richard Hand and later Michael Northrup. Joy’s first employment was at Moore-Few Care Center. She later babysat in her home for nieces, nephews and the next two generation of children. Joy always loved children, she adored her grandchildren and loved spending her time with them. Joy’s door was always open to her family, her many friends and family’s friends who were looking for a kind word and some encouragement. She also liked to work word search and picture puzzles. Joy was a member of the Church of Christ.

     Joy was preceded in death by her father, Gerald P. Moore; grandparents, Ed and Fern Hendrix, Harry and Letha Moore; infant grandson, Jered Edward Moore Jr.; uncles, Harold C. Moore and Edward C “Bud” Hendrix; aunt, Nadine Moore; and special sister-in-law, Lorraine (Rayna) Moore. Joy is survived by a son, Jered Edward Moore; daughter, Kizzi Celestine Pace; step-sons, Michael Northrup and Randy Northrup; seven grandchildren, Sidnee Layne Moore, Layknn Rene` Moore, Kuper Ryan Lee Moore, Blaiz Roxanne Pace, Kyrin Zayne Hostetter, Phelani Heather Hostetter, Kinzli Teresa Hostetter; numerous step-grandchildren; mother, Twilia Moore, two brothers, Jerry Moore and Carl Moore (Judy); sister, Vicki Hensley (Roger); nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Bro Dick Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. Friends may call from Thursday morning and until the hour of service on Saturday.

Memorials are suggested to Fair Haven Children’s Home (in Willard, MO) in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
