Marvin Eugene Ford, Jr.

     Marvin Eugene Ford, Jr., 59, a longtime resident of Sheldon, MO peacefully left this earth at his home with a friend at his side on Sunday, October 7, 2018.  Junior. was baptized in his home on April 20, 2018.  He was born Marvin Eugene Hunley and later adopted by his loving father Cletus Gene Ford at the age of eight.

   Junior is survived by his former wife Karen Jeffries of Sheldon; sister, Kathleen Melloh of Keystone, SD, younger sister, Tammy Larimore, Nevada, MO; younger brother, Darvin Ford, Bellamy, MO; four nieces; two nephews; five great nieces; six great nephews and one great-great nephew.

   He was preceded in death by his biological father, Marvin Eugene Hunley; his mother, Julia Ann Ford; and his adopted father, Cletus Gene Ford.

     Junior was a loyal and loving brother and friend to us all. He never graduated from high school but was known for his hard work and his “Mr. Fix-it” abilities. Junior could always be counted on to help family, friends and neighbors He was employed at Sheldon Seed Company in Sheldon, MO with Roy Cunningham as his employer for 27 years.  He worked for Murphy Family Ventures for the past seven years. It was a hard decision for him to stop working due to his declining health.

     Junior enjoyed spending time with his friends, working in his yard, fishing, and deer hunting.  He was active until the day he passed away. Junior and his sisters shared a special bond and a deep love for each other and he will be greatly missed.  “He had the most kind and gentle heart any man could have.”

     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating.  Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vernon County Cancer Relief in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
