Mary Elizabeth (Payne) Ogle

     Mary Elizabeth Ogle, 90, Nevada, MO passed from this life on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born May 7, 1929 in Green City, MO to Carl “Bud” and Suzie (Crouse) Payne.  She married Nile Lee Ogle on March 17, 1949 in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2016.

     Mary was a homemaker. She and her husband were a team – his job was to be the provider and hers was to run a home efficiently.  Mary rarely sat down, she was always busy with household chores and taking care of the children. When she was younger, she enjoyed horseback riding, embroidery, gardening, teaching Sunday School, and working in the church nursery. Later in life Mary joined the All Saints Episcopal Church in Nevada.  She dearly loved her church family and missed going when she became too ill to attend.

     Mary is survived by her children, Phillip Ogle, Cheryl (Ogle) Martin, Lee Ogle, Mark Ogle (Debbie); grandchildren, Justin Pryor (Nicki), Ashely Melech (J.D.), Jessica Stone (Chris), Steffan Lee Ogle, Lara Ogle, Aaron Ogle, and Duncan Ogle; great-grandchildren, Hannah Pryor, Addyson Pryor, Brinley Melech, Kaylie Melech, and Conner Wade Stone; sister, Patsy Harlan; brother, Ronald Lafavor and sister-in-law, Edna Faye Lafavor, her dearly loved sister-in-law, Geraldine Bankus Ogle; son-in-law, Roy Dale Norman, and  many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ogle Norman, her brother, Paul Payne, and a sister, Billie Jo Black.

     A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Nevada with Father Jim Lile officiating. Music will be under the direction of Darrell Jarman. Private inurnment will be in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
