Opal Louise (Schonewetter) Pruitt

Opal Louise Pruitt, 77 of Kansas City, MO formerly of Nevada, MO passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO following a period of illness.

Opal was born March 10, 1941 In Nevada, MO the daughter of Bert and Opal (Morgan) Schonewetter. At the age of sixteen she began working as an aide in local nursing homes. On March 17, 1976 she married Walter S. Pruitt in the Crawford House in Nevada. The couple had many good times traveling and going nice places. Opal was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. Following her husband’s death Opal moved to Kansas City to be near her family. Opal is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family including  nieces, Lois Roberson, and Karen Smith; nephews, Greg Pruitt, Terry Pruitt, and Jeff Pruitt. She is also survived by many friends at the Redwood `at the Blue River Nursing Center in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Peter Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
