Ronald Rice Obituary

          Ronald Walter Rice, 52, of Powderly, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX. Ron was born April 26, 1966 in Chicago, IL to Lonnie and Bonnie Marie (Acklin) Rice. He married Linda Ruth Knowles on August 1, 2016 in Grove, OK and she survives of the home.

     Ron grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1984.  He attended Embrey-Riddle University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Ron was honorably retired from the United States Air Force attaining the rank of Master Sergeant after 20 years of service.  He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

    In addition to his wife Linda, survivors include his five children; Robert Rice, Katrina Leahy, Antony Rice, Adrian Knowles, and Sherlyn Knowles; 12 grandchildren, Austyn Rice, Brennen Leahy, Kiera Leahy, Jayson Brown, Micayla Rice, Justin Rice, Alan Rice, Evan Rice, Scarlett Rice, Alyce Knowles, Lauryn Speer, and Anthony Speer; his mother, Bonnie Marie Acklin Rice; his grandmother, Annabelle Spencer; and three sisters, Lisa Davis and her husband Mike, Christina Bogner and her husband Kenneth, and Michelle Rice.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Rice.

    Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon, MO. Local arrangements are being handled by Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

     Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors Project in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
