Bennie Joe Locke

     Bennie Joe Locke, age 92, of Nevada, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Moore Few Care Center. He was born June 24, 1930, in Nevada, Missouri to William F. and Leota E. (McWilliams) Locke, the youngest of five children. On June 29, 1946, he married the love of his life, Gloria Lewis.

     Bennie attended school in Nevada, and then went to work for Denman Wholesale Company. After the closing of Denman Wholesale Company, he went to work at 3M until his retirement. Bennie lived in Nevada all of his life with the exception of seven years when the family moved to Paola, Kansas, for his work. He was a past member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Nevada. He loved trains, camping with his family and Bluegrass music and he and Gloria attended numerous music festivals.

     Bennie is survived by his daughter, Vicki Dilly and her husband, Jim, of Nevada; one grandson, Dustin Dilly and his wife, Heather, of Milo; two great grandchildren, Taten and Addisen Dilly; a sister-in-law, Ludell Lewis; a brother-in-law, Lowell Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife and oldest daughter, Connie Locke.

     No services are planned at the request of Mr. Locke. A private committal service will be held at a later date. The family wants to thank the staff of Moore Few Care Center for the loving care they provided.
