Betty Ann Pratt

      Betty Ann Pratt, 91, Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada following a brief illness. Betty was born July 10, 1929 in Appleton City, MO to William A. F. and Lucy A. (Schenker) Bern. She married Harry B. Pratt on November 16, 1952 in Prairie City, MO and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1979.

     Betty, the oldest of seven children, attended Rockville High School and graduated in 1947. When she was 14 she began work at Lyndale Train Station in Bates County for two years, followed by the State Hospital in Nevada for a number of years; she also worked in the Avon office in the Kansas City area. Betty was a homemaker and in addition helped Harry with his businesses, Nevada Hab Center, until her retirement.  She enjoyed Bowling League for many years.   

     Betty is survived by her 4 children; Sondra Woody (Mike), Nevada, MO, Charles Pratt, Sr., Nevada, MO, Carl R Pratt (Roberta), Sheldon, MO and Ronda S. Howard (Harry), Mindenmines, MO; as well as ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by four sisters; Eileen Losey, North Kansas City, MO, Doris Mills (Bob), Bartlesville, OK, Bonnie Stair, Pleasant Hill, MO, and Elaine Hellwig, Butler, MO; one brother; Charles Bern (Carol), Lee’s Summit, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.   Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry, her parents, and one brother, Billy Bob Bern.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.  Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 7-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Memorials to the All Saints Episcopal Church are suggested and can be made in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
