Bradley “Brad” Dale Brandt, 69, of Nevada, MO, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, after a sudden illness.
Brad was born on October 7, 1956, in Grand Forks, ND, to Howard Dale and Patricia Ann (Holweger) Brandt. He was a high school and college graduate and served his country in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force Reserves. He worked as a commercial cargo pilot for around 20 years. Brad worked in trucking from 2004 until 2021 then worked as a bus driver for First Student until his passing.
Brad raised a small herd of Angus cattle and enjoyed fixing tractors and trucks. He and his wife, Juell, provided a home for numerous rescued dogs and cats. Brad loved the Vikings football team and was a lifelong Star Trek fan.
Brad is survived by his wife, Juell (Mabry) Brandt, of the home; daughters Elizabeth and Catherine Brandt; son Steven Brandt; grandson Zachary Brandt; sister-in-law Maxann Flynn and niece, Elle. Brad was very close to his brother Craig Ralston (Jo); Uncle Dale Holweger (Charlotte); nephew Robert (Ashley) Peden; sister Deborah Peden; nieces; and great-grandchildren.
Celebrations of Life will be held in Nevada, MO and Kyle, Texas at later dates.
