Carol Diehr Davis, age 83, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Carol was born on June 25, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Eugene and Lorraine Diehr.
At age nine, Carol moved with her family to the family homestead farm south of Nevada. She was active in 4-H and was an exceptional student. In 1954 she was honored as Vernon County Dairy Princess. Carol was a graduate of Nevada High School and Kansas City Business College. She worked as a legal secretary.
Carol met the love of her life, Joe Davis in Harrisonville, MO. They were married for 63 ½ years until Joe passed away in 2019. They raised a son, Todd, and a daughter, Jill, in Blue Springs, MO.
Carol had a creative spirit. She was an avid interior decorator and homemaker. She enjoyed crafting and decorating for Christmas. Carol was featured by the Kansas City Star newspaper Christmas Homes Tours. She loved the outdoors, doing gardening and landscapes. She had a great eye for unusual folk art and antiques and loved to tell stories about all of her great finds.
In retirement Carol and Joe designed and built their dream home in the mountains near Pagosa Springs, CO where they lived for 18 years. Recently they returned to the homestead so they could be close to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. She is survived by her children, Todd Davis, and Jill Davis Covell (husband, Verne Covell); brother, Jim Diehr, (wife Jane); granddaughter, Sarah Davis, and grandson, Weston Covell; and several cousins; a niece, and a nephew.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Bill Platt officiating
