Cathie Ann Gilliland

     Cathie Ann Gilliland, 75, Nevada, MO passed peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Nevada Regional Medical Center. Cathie was born April 21, 1947, in Nevada, MO, to Greg M. and Norma B. (Dodge) Miller. On Oct. 23, 1971, she married Ronald Eugene Gilliland of Nevada, they stayed married for the next 44 years before he passed away in August of 2016.

     Cathie spent her life helping others. She worked at the state hospital in Nevada for almost 20 years, before returning to school to earn her Master’s Degree in Psychology.  She moved to Poplar Bluff, MO in 1992 and lived there for the next 25 years where she worked as a clinical therapist and in private practice.  She was an outspoken advocate for both women and children.

     Cathie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two children, Jennifer Christine, and Justin Wayne; a brother, Michael Miller; and a sister, Sheila Harper.

     Cathie is survived by two sons, Jeffery Gilliland of Tipton, MO, and Jason Gilliland and his wife Amber of Moundville, MO; five grandchildren, Zakary, Shaun, Jaylyn, Hailey, and Trae; four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jahsiah, Raquel, and Natalia; three siblings; a brother, James Miller, and two sister, Karen Osmond, and Katie Scott, all of Nevada; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

     A memorial visitation with the family will be from 4-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Ferry Funeral home in Nevada.
