She loved working out in the garden and tending to the large strawberry patch she had every year. Growing up, she had many different jobs, some of which were sitting with family members when they were sick, helping with the harvests, and restaurant work.  She worked at Pokorny's Drug Store in Nevada, she was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader, and did a lot of volunteer work.  She worked for many years as a beautician, 6 years in different shops until she owned and operated her own for the next 50 years retiring in 1999.

Survivors include one daughter Linda Sue Pike, El Dorado Springs, MO; and one granddaughter Tanja Wehmeyer (Travis) of El Dorado Springs, MO; two grandsons, Kenneth Pike, El Dorado Springs, MO, and Bradley Pike of El Dorado Springs, MO; one great grandson, Justin Pike (Marcy) of El Dorado Springs, MO.
