Connie Catherine Denning

     Connie Catherine Denning, 80, Nevada, Mo passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Connie was born October 25, 1940 in Monett, MO to Fred J. Rooney, Jr. and Anna B. (Wormington) Rooney. On February 14, 1961 she was united in marriage to DeVerne Denning and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2021.

     Connie grew up in Nevada and graduated high school from St. Francis Academy in Nevada. Following high school, she attended and graduated from Cotty College in Nevada. During the 70’s and 80’s Connie was a was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker.  Later she worked for a time at Bowman’s Title Company, then as a realtor at Osage Realty and also Strout Realty in Nevada.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

     Survivors include four children, Paul Denning (Tammi), Nevada, Nancy Kist (Tom), Spring Valley, IL, Catherine Patrick (Lonnie), Neosho, MO, Willie Denning (Emily), Overland Park, KS; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Rooney, Mt. Vernon, MO, Ann Khialani, Houston, TX; two brothers, Bill Rooney, Leawood, KS, John Rooney, Rociada, NM; and three nephews. In addition to her husband, DeVerne, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, John Paul Rooney.
