Darcy Marie Cable

   Darcy Marie Nobriga-Cable, 61, Nevada, MO passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, surrounded by her loving family. Darcy was born August 15, 1962 in Corning, NY to John and Patricia (Lowery) Nobriga. She married Nick Cable in Eureka Springs, AR and to this union their daughter, Caitlyn, was born. Darcy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada.

  After moving to Nevada in 1993, Darcy dedicated herself to service of others, working as a Paraprofessional for the Nevada R-5 School District Special Education Department, St. Mary’s School Aftercare Program and most recently at Southwest Community Services. She was dedicated to her wide circle of close friends. Her greatest joy, however, was helping her family. She delighted in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.

  Survivors include her daughter, Caitlyn Drake and her husband Steven, Nevada, MO; three grandchildren, Preston Drake, Paxtyn Drake, and Adaleigh Cable-Drake; and a brother, John Nobriga, Painted Post, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dominic James Nobriga; and two sisters, Elizabeth Marie Nobriga, and Teah Marie Nobriga.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at St. Mary’s.

  Memorials are suggested to the Special Olympics c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
