David Russell Evans

     David Russell Evans, 67, Schell City, MO, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, MO. Dave was born November 13, 1956 in Kansas City, MO to David Daniel and Anna Lucille (Russell) Evans.

     Dave attended school in El Dorado Springs and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1973. Following high school, he studied diesel mechanics and graduated with a Batchelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, then went on to receive a second Batchelor’s’ degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg where he studied electronics. Dave loved tinkering on small engines, and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Dave was known for always being willing to help out a friend.

     Survivors include his wife Lois Lusk, of the home; a daughter, Sumer Ferguson, Leeton, MO; two grandchildren, Alexa Ferguson and Kassandra Ferguson; two sisters, Helen Johnson and Linda Malcomb; a niece, Marcy Cook; and his four dogs, Scrappy, Daisy, Cowboy, and Bear.

     No services are planned. The family will have a private gathering at a later time.
