Debra "Debbi" Beerman Obituary

Debbi Kay Beerman, 66, of Nevada, MO, passed away peacefully in her home on February 12, 2025, surrounded by family and the love of her life.   Born on January 21, 1959, in Horton, MO, to Robert W. Hymer and Delphia I. Hesser, Debbi’s life was one of love, devotion, and cherished family moments.

On November 17, 1978, Debbi married Rodney Diggins, and together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.  She later married David F. Beerman on October 6, 1988, in Kansas City, MO, and their love brought two more beautiful daughters into her life, completing her cherished family. Debbi pursued higher education at Crowder College, completing two years of study while dedicating herself fully to her family.

Debbi was a proud and loving mother to her four daughters, and if you knew her, you knew she never missed an opportunity to brag about her girls and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense joy in their achievements and milestones. Debbi held many jobs over the years but met many special people while working at Farm & Home Bank, H&R Block, NRMC and Rinehart Jewelry. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went, always ready for a chat and a good visit.

A woman of deep faith, Debbi was a longtime member of Rinehart Christian Church, where she was baptized over 25 years ago. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Philip Hymer and David Hymer; her nephew, Chris Hymer; her sisters-in-law, Brenda Postma and Sally Beerman; brother-in-law, Dan Beerman; and her dear friends and sisters by choice, Wilma Vandenburg, Johnna Loyd, and Alice Clay.

Debbi is survived by her loving husband, David; their four daughters: Kiianna Pettit (Chris) of Nevada, MO; Sheena Brooks (Dwayne) of Hot Springs, AR; Sarina Leonard (Klayton) of Nevada, MO; and Sulli Doolin (Gavin) of Sheldon, MO. She was a beloved grandmother to twelve grandchildren: Brantley Pettit, Kelstynne Ketterman (Lane), Kayd Pettit, Lane Brooks (Payten), Braylin Brooks (Josie), Kynndrick Brooks (Aliccia), Elye Leonard, Mason Leonard, Leah Leonard, Marni Miller-Doolin, Gypsi Miller-Doolin, and Maverick Miller-Doolin. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Ascher Brooks, Ryver Brooks, and Hadley Brooks who all put joy in her heart.

She is also survived by her brother, Mike Hymer (Jo) of Metz, MO, as well as several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and multiple nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO, on Sunday, February 16th, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17th, at 10:00 AM at Ferry Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at Virgil City Cemetery, Virgil City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Vernon County Cancer Relief, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or the Epilepsy Foundation in Debbi’s honor.
