Doris Jean May

     Doris Jean May, 84, formerly of Nevada, MO passed away on Tuesday, February 07, 2023 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, AR. Doris was born March 26, 1938 in Sheldon, MO to Harold M. and Cora E. (Hieronymus) Greer. She was united in marriage to Lloyd May on June 5, 1955 in Nevada, MO and he survives of the home.

     Doris was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School. She lived most of her adult life in Nevada. She and Lloyd owned and operated May’s Garden Center for many years, which later became May’s Flower and Gifts where Doris worked until retirement. Doris was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly Church in Nevada. For the past four years she and Lloyd have resided in Bella Vista, AR.

     In addition to her husband, Lloyd, she is survived by one daughter, Deanne Hoagland (Gregg), Bella Vista, AR; two grandchildren, Kiley Robinette (Brian), Bella Vista, AR, and Ryan Hoagland (Nikki), Parkville, MO; two great-granddaughter’s, Shay, and Lennox; and one great-grandson, Nolan; a sister, Pat Moore, El Dorado Springs, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

     Private family graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Pastor Dennis Engelbrecht officiating. Friends may call now and until noon on Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

     Memorials are suggested in her memory to the Pentecostal Assembly Church in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
