Doris Faye Quackenbush, 83, Nevada, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at KU Medical Hospital Kansas City, KS. Doris was born in Walker, MO, on February 6, 1939, to William Cleveland Brundridge and Mary Edna Bridges. Doris was previously married to Jerry Quackenbush.
Doris loved to write and had several articles published in the magazine “The Good ole Days”, she also enjoyed cooking breakfast for the grandkids, decorating and playing the piano. She really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her siblings, Donald (Jodey) Brundridge of Boliver and Ruby Villines of Indianapolis; daughters, Tracie Quackenbush of St. Louis, Tonya Grenko of Nevada; grandchildren, Dallene Barton, Dezzerra Jones, Patrick Hendrix, Kyle Hendrix and Claude Trent; great-grandchildren, Tyler Martin, Westlee Hendrix, Kortney Barton, Persephanie Hendrix, Sebastian Null, Katalayia Jones and Oliver Barton. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary; brothers and sisters, Cecil Brundridge, Harry Brundridge, (Buck) Harry Brundridge, Peggy Smith and Freda Fleming; and daughter, Tami Cullen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Kenny Tourtillott officiating. Interment will follow in Virgil City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. on Friday until the service at Ferry Funeral Home.
