Dorothy Ellen (Porter) Hardie

     Dorothy Ellen Hardie, 95, El Dorado Springs, MO passed from this life on Monday, October 15, 2018 in El Dorado Springs.  Dorothy was born October 12, 1923 in Harwood, MO to James Jackson and Eula B. Porter.  She was united in marriage to James Howard Hardie in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1992.

    Dorothy was a member of the Little Blue Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. She was employed at Wilcox Electric in Kansas City, MO where she worked for over 35 years until her retirement in 1987. Dorothy was a very spirited and lovable individual who was always young at heart right up until the very end of her life.  She loved her family and friends, and watching her family grow.

     Survivors include three grandchildren, Randall M. Hardie, El Dorado Springs, MO, Kenneth D. Hardie (Kim) Elkland, MO, John M. Hardie (Debbie), El Dorado Springs, MO; daughter-in-law, Beverly E. Janes, El Dorado Springs, MO; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband James, she was preceded in death by her son James Kenneth Hardie.

      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City, MO with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating.  Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9-5:00 on Friday in Schell City.
