Elvy Ray Burrus, Sr., 78, passed away at his home in Walker. Elvy was born on November 7, 1942 in Nebraska to Oran Everett and Bonavie Emmaline (LaFarge) Burrus
Elvy was a lineman for the MKT Railroad, truck driver, house painter and farmer. He was baptized at the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada and was a member of the Eagles and Elk Lodges in Nevada.
Survivors include one son, Elvy, Jr. and his wife Stacy, Odessa, MO; six grandchildren, Brooke Silvola, Micha Cargill, Khameron Cargill, Kendra Shepherd, Logan Burrus, Emily Burrus; eleven great-grandchildren, Rhylee, Asher, Khadyn, Finley, Rayden, Bryce, Andrea, Gavin, Conner, Adalynn, and Ella; and one great-great grandchild, Lucas; one brother, Oran A. Burrus He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Lisa Cargill and Denise Burrus; two sons, Oran Burrus and Travis Burrus; and two sisters, Ella Mae Brooks and Dorothy “Tiny” Busby.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, MO with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home.
