Emily Inez Middleton

        Emily Inez Middleton, 94, Nevada, MO, formerly of Metz, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Medicalodges in Ft. Scott, KS. Emily was born March 1, 1929 in Lawton, OK to William C. and Lettie E. (Golden) Calvert. She was united in marriage to George Middleton and he preceded her in death in 1985.

     Emily was raised in Lawton, OK and attended school there. In 1973 she came from Florida to Vernon County and settled in the Metz area. For many years she worked at the Nevada State Hospital as a Developmental Aide. Emily lived most of her adult life in Metz.

     Survivors include her daughter, Judy Heckadon (Jack), Nevada; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by five sons, Jack Middleton, Danny Middleton, George Middleton, Dennis Middleton, and Dale Middleton; one daughter, Georgia Sue Brigman; three brothers, and seven sisters.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Jacob Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

     Memorials are suggested in her name to Camp Niangua (MO Freewill Baptist Youth Camp) c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
