Fred Wittenberg

   Frederick John “Fred” Wittenberg, III, 46, Deerfield, MO passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.  Fred was born on March 23, 1980, to Donald John and Patricia Sue (Nickelson) Wittenberg in Ft. Scott, KS.

    Fred was raised in Deerfield, MO and graduated from Nevada High School in the Class of 1999.   He worked for 15 years at Mid-Continental Restoration of Ft. Scott. 

     Fred lived in Deerfield nearly his entire life and was known as a friend to everyone he knew.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

     Fred is survived by two brothers, Kevin Kast (Melissa), Ft. Scott, KS and Donald Wittenberg, Deerfield, MO; three sisters, Mary Hilliard (Kevin), state of Oklahoma, Miria Atkins (Kelly), Ft. Scott, KS, and Jodi Leatherman (Clint), Redfield, KS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Lacey Page.
