Garry Thomas Goodman

      Garry Thomas Goodman, age 76, of Neosho, MO passed away at his home on Thursday, May 19, 2023.  He was born July 23, 1946, in Schell City, MO to Thomas Franklin and Dallas Vida (Davis) Goodman. He married Carol Rayburn Moss and to this union three children were born.

     After graduating from Schell City High School in 1964, he became a self-taught Computer Programmer training with IBM, worked for many years at Farm & Home in Nevada, and also worked for Hogan’s Systems in Dallas for many years until his retirement.  Garry also served in the Missouri National Guard.

     Garry was a member of the Schell City Christian Church, a former member of the Nevada, MO Lions Club and the NW Missouri Steam and Gas Engine Association of Hamilton, MO.  He loved and collected old tractors, cars, and trucks, but the greatest joy of his life was his grandchildren.

     Survivors include two sons, Scott Goodman, and Darren (Ellen) Goodman; one daughter, Amy (Christopher) Austin, all of Neosho, MO; grandchildren, Makaela Carey, Mariah Goodman, Bryce Austin, and Dominique Austin; two sisters, Patricia (Paul) Rhoades, Lee’s Summit, MO and Jean Watson, Independence, MO. Garry was preceded in death by his parents.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the Schell City Christian Church in Schell City, MO, with Jeff Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.

      Memorials are suggested to the Schell City Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian.
