Gary Shipman

        Gary Shipman, 75, Schell City, MO, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at CoxHealth Medical Center in Springfield, MO.  He was born May 10, 1949 in Kansas City, KS to Max and Patricia (Richardson) Shipman.

    Gary was a 1968 graduate of Basehor Kansas High School.  After high school he served in the United States Air Force for 4 years.  Gary was a Vietnam Veteran.  He returned to Kansas City for a time and later lived in the state of Texas before moving back to Schell City where he has resided for the past 20 years.

    Gary is survived by a sister, Pam Carpenter, Statesville, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, John Vaughn, Nevada, MO; and close friend, Charles Sumner, El Dorado Springs, MO.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Vaughn; and brothers, Michael and Leroy.

     Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Green Lawn Cemetery, Schell City, MO.  Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO.
