Gayle Leigh (Rose) Rhodes, 69, of Nevada, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at her home surrounded by family after a tough battle with cancer over the last year and a half. “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”.

Gayle was born August 3, 1952, in Fort Scott, KS., to Mary Ann (Minor) and Jerry Rose.

Gayle attended Nevada schools for most of her life after moving back to the area from Kansas

City. She graduated in the Class of 1970. After high school she worked for her father and later Farm and Home Savings, Silverline Industries, and Oppenheimer Mutual Funds. With many health issues, Gayle retired and stayed in the Nevada area.

She most enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. But we all knew she loved a cold can of coke, a cosmic brownie, and the pellet ice from Cash and Dash. She would often call her grandkids to come over and fix her phone or ask, “how do I get this message off here?”

She had two children, Buffi Nielson (Parker) of Nevada, MO. Dusty Rhodes (Robin) of New

Caney, TX. Grandchildren include Matthew Nielson (Jenna), Jordan Nielson, Channing Nielson (Ashley), Taylor Nielson, Jensen Nielson, Madison Rhodes, and Colton Rhodes. Great grandchildren include Tresen Nielson, and Parker Quinn Nielson. Family members include two sisters, Connie Stiles and Cindi (Dennis) Cullison, and one brother, Jerry (Kim) Rose. Trent and Andrea Stiles, with great nephews, Camden Stiles, Teegan Stiles. Numerous nieces and nephews. Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ann Rose, Jerry Rose, her sister, Cindi Cullison, and Buffi’s husband, Parker. “If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart…I’ll stay there forever. Winnie the Pooh”

We love you, Mom-Bammie-Bam Bam...just rest.

A private service will be held at a later date.
