Glenda McGarraugh

    Glenda R. (Eador) McGarraugh, 87, Nevada, MO, joined our Lord in heaven on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.   Glenda was born on April 9, 1937 in Nevada, MO to Willis E. Eador and Mary Minerva (Griffith) Eador.  She married Ralph A. (Jack) McGarraugh on November 5, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1999.

    Glenda attended Nevada Schools and lived her entire life in the Milo/Nevada area.  She worked for over 70 years in various retail companies, retiring after 27 years at Wal-Mart at the age of 80.  She loved the retail environment as it gave her the opportunity to see and interact with many people.  She formed many lasting relationships with those she encountered.

    She was a member of the Milo Baptist Church. She was a Girl Scout and later in life became a leader for her daughter’s troops.  She was also a 4-H project leader. She was an organizer of the Class of 1955 monthly luncheons which she received great joy in attending.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, flower gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

    Glenda is survived by two daughters, Debbie McGarraugh, Nevada and Christi Beisner (Mike), Nevada; one grandson, Ethan Beisner, Huntsville Texas; one brother, Bob Eador (Betty), Nevada, one sister, Sharon Sikes (Everette), Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, and brothers John Eador and Bill Eador. 

      A private family interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Milo Cemetery, Milo, MO, with Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating.    The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00p.m. on Friday, October 25, at Ferry Funeral Home.   Memorials to the NRMC Hospital Foundation are suggested and can be made in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
