Jack Leonard Farmer, Jr., age 79, formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away at his home in Oak Grove, MO, on Friday, May 16, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Jack was born July 10, 1945, in Phoenix, AZ to Jack Leonard Farmer, Sr. and Dorothy Carole (Kirby) Farmer.
Jack was raised in Nevada and attended Nevada Schools. He was a painter by trade, working closely with his brothers, Don and Robert, for many years. He lived and worked in Nevada most of his life. Jack’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, and growing a vegetable garden. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Joyce, and spending time with family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his parents; three brothers, Ricky Noel, Larry Farmer, Don Simler, and one sister, Jean Snowden. He is survived by his daughter, Kandi Jean Evans of the Springfield, MO area; former wife, Elly Keithley of Hermitage, MO; their daughter, Jacqueline Farmer of Nevada, MO; and stepson, Roger Hoffman (Linda) of Hastings, Nebraska; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Jerry) Baker of Oak Grove, MO, and Shelia (Larry) Hand of Stockton, MO; one brother, Robert Warren of Blue Springs, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 2nd, 2025. at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Ray Dean Scism officiating.
Memorials are suggested in his name to Vernon County Cancer Relief c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
