Jamie Sue (Heckadon) Smith

Jamie Sue Smith, 48, Nevada, MO, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at her home in Nevada. Jamie was born October 31, 1976, in Nevada, MO, to James P. and Joyce Dee (Dabbs) Heckadon, Jr. She was united in marriage to Thomas Smith on May 3rd, 1997, in Nevada and he preceded her in death on March 3rd, 2014.

Jamie was raised in the Sheldon area and attended Sheldon High School. She worked at American Legion and at Nevada Eagles. She also worked in the Wood’s Grocery Deli for the past year. One of her favorite enjoyments was the Midwest Pool League. Jamie lived most of her life in Nevada.  

Survivors include two sons: Devon Smith of Nevada, Dalton Smith (Sara) of Nevada; one granddaughter, Allianna, her father, James Heckadon of the home; a sister, Kim Bogan (Loren), Prescott, KS; brother, Trenton Heckadon (Sydney), Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Tommy, she was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; and her grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
