Mary Jeannine “Jeannie” Beeman, 63, of Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Jeannie was born on October 12, 1962, in Nevada, MO to William Henry and Phyllis Arlene (Harper) Fanning. She married Doug Beeman on March 21, 1992, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2014.
Jeannie grew up in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1981. She attended Mid-America Nazarene College, earning an Associates Degree in Business. Jeannie worked at Walmart, Midwest Pecan Growers, and Guthrie Motors for a number of years. She was employed by the Nevada R-5 School District for 19 years until poor health forced her early retirement.
Jeannie and Doug were active members of the Nazarene Church for many years. She enjoyed their camping trips and especially being with their children. Jeannie loved her dog, Duko and she was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She also enjoyed baking and decorating cupcakes and cookies.
Jeannie had an unending love and devotion for her family and friends. There was absolutely nothing she wouldn’t do for them. She could always be counted on to help a friend in need.
Survivors include her children, Ashley Hollingsworth (Garry), Elkins, AR and Zachary Beeman (Michelle), Nevada, MO; three grandchildren, William Robinson, Sebastian Meyer, and Olivia Meyer; a sister, Patty Fanning, Nevada, MO; a brother, Russ Fanning (Linda), Nevada, MO; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; an aunt, Pam Brann (Eddie), Lee’s Summit, MO; and an uncle, Carl Fanning (Linda), Independence, MO. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doug; and grandson, Thomas Robinson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Lisa Claypool officiating. Burial will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
