Jo Ann Guzman

     Jo Ann Guzman, 72, Milo, MO passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. Jo Ann was born March 10, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Lewis J. and Ruth Ann (Barker) Jones. She married Francisco Guzman on December 11, 1978 and he survives of the home.

     Jo Ann grew up in Kansas City and graduated from East High School in Kansas City, MO. Following her marriage to Francisco the couple moved to Milo in 1991. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, cross stitch, was obsessed with playing Bingo, liked to travel, and shop at flea markets. Jo Ann adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She believed that holidays were a time for family parties and special gatherings.

     In addition to her husband Francisco, she is survived by seven children: Kevin Metcalf, Sheldon, Frankie Guzman (Fereshta), Los Angeles, CA, Chad Metcalf (Julie), Joplin, MO, Jason Metcalf (Allie), Joplin, Janet Guzman, California, Hady Guzman, California, Giannina Guzman, Milo; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

     Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 3-4:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
