John Matthew Hewitt

John Matthew Hewitt, 54, Liberal, MO, passed away on Friday, April 19,2013, at Freeman Health System West, Joplin, MO, following a brief illness.  He was born August 3, 1958, in Kansas City, MO, to Clinton John Hewitt and Donna Elaine Stidham Hewitt.

John was raised in Kansas City, MO.  He lived and worked in Kansas City and came to Nevada in January 2012.  John has lived in Liberal for the past three months.

Survivors include his mother, Donna Strong, Kansas City, MO; Mark Hewitt, Matt Hewitt, Danny Hewitt, Curtis Hewitt, and Steve Hewitt; two sisters, Lavetta and Linda; numerous nieces, nephews, and one son.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clinton Hewitt; one sister, Shannon Norton, and one brother, Timothy Hewitt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at  Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.  Interment will follow in Welborn Cemetery, Moundville, MO.
