Judy Humphrey

    Judy Marie Humphrey, 82, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada.   Judy was born on October 16, 1943, in Nevada, MO to Roderick Franklin and Ida Fay (Robinson) Bastow.  She was married to Melvin Leon Humphrey on February 28, 1970, at the Hume Methodist Church, in Hume, MO.  Melvin survives of the home.

    Judy was raised in Nevada, attended Nevada Schools and graduated in the Nevada High School Class of 1961.    She worked at T G & Y Dime Store as a sales clerk for many years.  Later she continued her retail salesclerk work at Clothing Mart, Roberts Department Store, and the Second Edition Shop before she retired.

    Judy enjoyed sewing, quilting, and flower gardening in her spare time.  She was a longtime member of the Sylvan Dale Baptist Church. 

     In addition to her husband, Melvin, Judy is survived by a son, Mark Humphrey (Desireé), Nevada, MO; step-children, Marilyn Filbert (Tom), Boonville, MO and Marsha Biesik (Quinn), Osawatomie, KS; step-grandchildren, Makayla Morris, Braden Morris (Amiyah), Kayli Humphrey, Liza Humphrey, Daniel Filbert, Jenna Filbert, Amy Miller and Allison Biesik; several step-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Bastow, Nevada, MO.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; an infant daughter; and two brothers, Jack Bastow and Jim Bastow.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating.   Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Monday, June 29.  Those who wish may make contributions in Judy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
