Karen Ann Sailor, 84, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, MO. Karen was born on April 28, 1940 in Elk City, KS to Roy and Vida (Hadley) Furnas. She married William E. Sailor on July 28, 1957 in Elk City, KS. He preceded her in death in 2021.
Karen was a kitchen manager in the food service industry. She enjoyed quilting and gardening with her husband, Bill.
Karen served faithfully with Bill in Junior Church and the Youth Department at Iola Baptist Temple for over 40 years. They moved to Nevada, MO in 2007 and served faithfully at Bible Baptist Church.
Karen and Bill loved to take vacations with friends and family. They traveled to most of the states and enjoyed family cruises to Alaska and Mexico. They loved sharing stories about the things they saw and things they did on these trips.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Bill, Karen was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia McCulley. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sue Mahloch (Gary), Nevada, MO, Sandra Garver (Alan), Monett, MO, and Judy Logan (Tom), Wichita, KS; a son, William D. Sailor, Ft. Scott, KS; seven grandchildren, Amanda Ullrich (Matthew), Wendy Pyle (Joshua), Bryan Garver (Marcy), Andrea Fowler (Wade), Kelsey Bentley (Jason), Justin Logan (Gabrielle), and Terry Logan (Karen); 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcillee Wilkinson (Clarence), Bartlesville, OK.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Bible Baptist Church, Nevada, with Pastor Joshua Pyle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Click Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in Karen’s memory to the Tri-Valley Developmental Center, Ft. Scott, KS in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
