Laura Jean Cox, 79, Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Laura was born August 11, 1943 in San Bernardino, CA. She was united in marriage to Gerald E. Cox, Sr. on August 4, 1989 in Miami, OK and he survives of the home.
Laura was raised in California and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1961. She came to Nevada in 1985 and worked at 3M Nevada until her retirement in 1998. Laura enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her delicious pies, especially her cherry pie.
In addition to her husband, Gerald, she is survived by one daughter, Barbara Brugh, Wheatland, MO; two stepsons, Gerald E. Cox, Jr., and Harold A. Cox, both of Ft. Scott, KS; one granddaughter, Cherie Rushton, Lee’s Summit, MO; several step-grandchildren; a sister, Hazel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonita Pierce, and a granddaughter, Elise Theisen.
