Lewis “Woody” Weber, 84, Sheldon, MO, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Woody was born on July 16, 1936 in Moundville, MO to Lewis Daniel and Marzie Ethelene (Cocke) Weber. He married Patricia O’Neal in Grove, OK on February 2, 2000 and she preceded him in death in 2009.
Woody grew up on a farm near Moundville, MO and attend Hackberry Country School near Moundville and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1954. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Ladd Air Force Base in Alaska. Woody came home to Moundville to farm and later went to work at Sears in Nevada. He also worked for soft drink businesses in Kansas City and Nevada then went into the grocery store business in Nevada and Ft. Scott, KS for over 25 years until retirement.
Survivors include three children, Cindy Thomas and her husband Arthur, Rich Hill, MO, Loyd Weber and his wife Debbie, Aledo, TX and Mindy Starbuck and her husband Gary, Sheldon; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren; one sister, Verna Helen Steele, Springfield, MO; and numerous nieces and nieces. In addition to his wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Gary Weber in 1975; three brothers, Claude, Pete, and Danny Weber; one sister, Lois Weber; one grandchild, Carmen Starbuck; and two great grandchildren, Devin Ellifrits and Hannah Lamb.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, MO.
