Linda Mae Byrnes

      Linda Mae Byrnes, 89, Nevada, MO, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Linda was born April 4,1934 in Metz, MO, to Earl and Zella (Gregg) Wilson. She was united in marriage to William J. Byrnes on April 20, 1955 in Butler, MO, and he preceded her in death in 2004.

     Linda was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1953. She worked for a time as a beautician. Following her marriage to Bill, they lived in several states and in Japan while he served in the United State Air Force. After he retired from the Air Force in 1971, they settled in Leavenworth, KS, returning to Nevada in the early 1990s. 

     Survivors include one daughter, Jo Byrnes, and her husband, Lawrence Alford, of Nevada, MO; a brother, H. De. Wilson and his wife, JoAnn, of Butler, MO; a sister-in-law, Hazel Wilson, of Moundville, MO, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Byrnes, of Overland Park, KS; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emily Bird and Lura Jean Zinn; and two brothers, Orton Wilson and Leroy Wilson.

          No services are planned at the request of Mrs. Byrnes. The family wants to thank the staff of Moore-Few Care Center and Nevada Regional Medical Center for the care they provided.  

     Memorials are suggested to Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada Regional Medical Center, or a charity of choice.
