Linda D. Dougherty, 72 of Nevada passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Nevada Regional Hospital following a period of illness.
Linda was born November 24, 1946 in K.C., MO, the daughter of Charles Franklin and Dorene (Colton) Scott. She graduated from high school in K.C. where she lived most of her life. She married Jerrold Dougherty on January 11, 2001. The couple lived in KC, MO, moved to El Dorado Springs a few years ago, moving to Nevada in 2017. Linda worked in the health care industry serving the mentally and physically challenged in K.C. She also was a home health provider for the elderly. Linda had the gift of having a servant’s heart and a passion for the church. She enjoyed helping meet the needs of others. Linda collected angels, Coke memorabilia and books, as she was an avid reader. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Melissa and granddaughter, Hayley and is survived by her husband, Jerry of the home, a son John Springstube of Butler, three step-daughters, Maria Griffith (Ron) KC, MO, Karin Woodward (Shane) Forney, TX, Leslie Willcockson (Joe) Republic, MO; many grandchildren; mother Dorene Brown, KC, MO; sister, Jackie Oliver, KC, MO; extended family and friends.
Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Abel Hagan officiating.
