Linda Sue Gollhofer, 84, passed away in the early morning on October 20, 2025, at the Arrowhead Nursing Facility in Osage Beach, Missouri after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was born on August 7, 1941, in Metz, Missouri to Sarah Alice and Thomas Ben Good. Linda graduated from Nevada High School in 1959 and shortly thereafter she traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for greater employment opportunities. While working in Kansas City, Linda met William “Bill” Gollhofer, who was employed as a Kansas City, Missouri Police Officer. Linda and Bill married on August 18, 1962 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in Nevada, Missouri. The two were lifelong companions and proudly their motto was “together we can do anything”. Following Bill’s retirement, they moved back to their farm in Nevada, Missouri where Linda worked at Roosevelt Bank for many years until her retirement.
Linda loved to garden and can her produce, which she happily shared with family, friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts, which she shared with family and friends, as well as hospitals and nursing homes.
Linda had a generous heart and was a faithful volunteer in her community and church.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband , Bill; six siblings, Maxine Carlisle, Wilbur Good, Barbara Ahrens, Clark Good, Hazel Good, and Benny Good; and three nephews, David Linn Ahrens, Steve Ahrens, and William ( Billy) Good. Linda is survived by a nephew, Gary Good, Nevada, Missouri; and five nieces, Linda ( Frank) Royster, Little Rock, Arkansas, Evelyn ( Jim) Maddux, Tucson, Arizona, Jeannie (Dan) Kolden, Mesa, Arizona, Laurie (Dave) Dooley, Fresno, California, and Sarah Eberhard, Osage Beach, Missouri.
A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada, Missouri or the Vernon County Cancer Relief in c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
