It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our father Lloyd R. Hunt, who departed this world on May 2, 2025 at the age of 74. Lloyd was born on October 29, 1950 in Stockton, MO to his parents, Jimmie R Hunt and Mary E. Hunt. Lloyd was married to his wife Wanda Joyce Hunt. Lloyd fathered eight children, three sons, Michael, Willie and Robert Hunt, and five daughters, Melissa Brundige, Rebecca Wickliffe, Pamela Garren, Lorri Mattox, and Tiffany Sparks. Lloyd has 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Lloyd R. Hunt had several occupations but found joy in Truck Driving. He is known for his passion for old westerns and his hero was always John Wayne. One of my kindest memories with dad was watching John Wayne Movies on late Sunday evenings as a child.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmy R. Hunt and Mary E. Hunt, his son Michael Hunt; siblings, Jimmie & Maxine Hunt, Gene M. Hunt, and Bobby Joe Hunt; his sister, Ruth Stroud; sisters-in-law, Marsha Burris, Carol Smith, and Patricia Schmoranz; one brother-in-law, Donald Vinson; and, father and mother-in-law James F. and Delera I. Vinson.
Lloyd is survived by his estranged wife, Wanda Hunt; two sons; five daughters; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Harra and Mary Nelson; one brother, Harold Hunt; and, several nieces, nephews and countless others that cared about him.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO. Private committal will follow in Hamby Cemetery, Stockton, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5. Memorial contributions to the family are suggested and can be made in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
