Lorna Josephine Dighero

     Lorna Josephine Dighero, 87, Nevada, MO passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Lorna was born January 31, 1936 in Lamar, MO to Claude and Lorna (Shepherd) Riley. She married Herb Dighero on October 27, 1949 in Nevada and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2009.

     Lorna was raised in the Sheldon and Verdella area. During her life she worked at Key Work Clothes as a seamstress, the Shoe Factory, was a farm wife, and a Sale Barn cook where she was famous for her cheeseburgers and pies. She loved horses and animals. Lorna lived most of her life in the Walker area.  

     Survivors include four sons, Donnie Dighero, Nevada, Terry Dighero (Diane), Nevada, Herbie Dighero, Nevada, and Larry Dighero (Tamela), Carthage; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell Babcock (Jeanie), KY; two nephews and two nieces. In addition to her husband Herb, she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Connie Dighero, and Debbie Dighero; a son, Ronald Dighero; daughter-in-law, Sue Dighero; granddaughter, Kerri Dighero; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Dighero.

     A graveside committal will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Bluff Cemetery in Barton County, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
