Madeline Sneed

      Madeline Carol McNeely Sneed, 64, passed away Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Madeline "Maddy" was born in Kansas City, Kansas on November 27, 1956 to Clarence Adolf and Pearletta Florence Scholes McNeely.

        She lived in Kansas until her Freshman year in high school when her family moved to Sheldon, Missouri. There she met the love of her life, her husband, Clifford Earl Sneed, Jr. They married on September 30, 1973. Maddy graduated from Sheldon High School in 1974. After their kids were grown, she went back to school and received an associate's degree from Crowder College, and 2 bachelor's degrees in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice, joining Phi Beta Kappa and graduating Cuma Sum Laude from Missouri Southern State University, which led to her career with Children's Division, making a positive impact on the lives of countless kids and families in the area for the past decade.

         Maddy enjoyed being around her family, especially her grandkids, her voice and presence will be missed cheering at their many sports games she attended.  She was the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan, even before being a Chiefs fan was 'cool'. She looked forward to weekends spent camping at the lake with her sister and best friend, Lola. She loved to make people laugh, she had the biggest sense of humor, sometimes laughing at her own jokes before she could even tell them all the way. Maddy was definitely a lover of life, a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend.

         Madeline is survived by her husband Clifford, 3 sons, Jerimy, Micah, and James; 1 daughter Aleasha Schnedler, 7 grandchildren, Daylon, Destiny, Dawnielle, Colton, Zoe, Bella, and Logan; 3 brothers Butch McNeely (Bev), Joe McNeely (Vicki), Jamie Larson (Ramona), 4 sisters Patty Bishop, Georgia Gilkey (Fred), Lola Slyter (Paul) Ethel Brower, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather James Larson, 2 brothers Clarence "Micky" McNeely, and Elvie McNeely.

     We invite anyone who knew Maddy to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Missouri. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral.
