Marcia Lee Spencer

     Marcia Lee Spencer, 81, of Clinton, MO passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the Redwood of Raymore. Marcia was born January 10, 1940 in Joplin, MO to Charles and Nadeen Angel. Marcia grew up in Joplin where her father owned a feed store. After graduating from high school, she attended St. Luke’s Nursing School and earned her R.N. license. Marcia spent the next 46 years as a nurse in various roles, including hospitals in Missouri, nursing homes in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma, and a camp in Colorado. She also used her knowledge to teach nursing at the Nevada Vo-Tech and was the Director of Nurses of a few facilities.

     Marcia is survived by her son Joseph (Audra) Spencer, grandson Benjamin (Amanda) Spencer, granddaughter Bethany (Brent) Baughn, great-grandsons, Dayton Spencer, and Cayden Baughn all of Clinton, MO; a niece Janice (Jim) Healey of Sharon, MA; and 7 great-nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Betty JoAnn Maxwell, a niece Susan Griggs, and her husband, James Meredith Spencer.

     A brief memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Ferry Funeral home in Nevada, MO with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
