Margie Jean Cargill, 76, of Nevada passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Cox South Health in Springfield, MO. Margie was born on September 4, 1949, in Anthony, KS to Armond and Clara (Little) Holladay.
Margie grew up in Seligman, MO and at age 5 moved with her family to Montevallo. She graduated from the El Dorado Springs High School in 1967. She then received an associate’s degree from Wentworth College in Nevada. Margie worked for the IRS in Jefferson City for a time before moving to Douglas, Wyoming. There she worked for an answering service and 2-way dispatching for an Oil and Gas company. After moving back to Missouri, she became Executive Secretary at Heartland Hospital and while working there she received an associate’s degree from Wentworth College in Nevada. She, along with her husband, later owned and operated Roberts Consolidated, LLC, El Dorado Springs in the trucking business. Margie finished her career as Administrative Secretary in the Juvenile Office in Nevada, retiring in 2018. Margie was member of the Walker Christian Church. She loved her dogs, working in her yard, reading, doing puzzles, sewing, watching movies, and donating her time helping others.
Survivors include her son, Bill Burns and his wife Reagan of Magnolia, TX, and her daughter Angie Johnson and her husband Chuck of Springfield, MO, three grandchildren, Jorden Johnson, Ryan Johnson (Liz), and Chayson Johnson, two brothers, George Stephens of Crescent, OK and Robert Holladay of Nevada, and numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Stephens and an infant brother, David Holladay.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. A committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday April 11, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dederick, MO.
