Martha Christine Tipling

    Martha Christine Tipling, 77, a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt passed away on May 6, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Wheatland, MO.  She was born on November 25, 1948, in Nevada, MO, to Frank and Mary Ellen (Little) Nunez.

    Martha was raised in Milo and Nevada, MO and graduated from Nevada High School in 1966. She attended and completed a program at Platt Business College in St. Joseph, MO in 1968. She began working for West Central Missouri Rural Development Corporation in 1969 where she held different positions over 30+ years. She was later employed with Medicalodges Nevada as Director of Social Services.  Martha was a kind and caring person who devoted her entire career to helping others through her social services work.

    Martha lived most of her adult life in Nevada.  She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nevada and, most recently, St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Hermitage, MO. 

    Martha is survived by her children and their spouses, Misty McGraw (Vernon), Stormy Moore (Doug), Margo Shull (Mark), Terry Malesky (Joe), and Andrea Foulkes (Ted); partner, Gregg Wright; grandchildren, Tiffany, ReAnna, Joshua, Hunter, and Colton; a great granddaughter, Abigail and three great-grandsons, Paxton, Hunter A., and Hunter C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Tipling; her parents, Frank and Mary Ellen Nunez; siblings, Francis Nunez, Robert Nunez, Angelina Geary, Mary Gillespie, Margreat Bolser, Donald Nunez, Norma Dayringer, James Nunez, Teresa Huss, and Joseph Paul Nunez; and stepson, Scott Tipling.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Ferry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
