Marynell (Blasengym) Modlin

     Marynell Modlin, 84, of Nevada, MO, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada.  Marynell was born on January 7, 1938 in Long Beach, CA to Urban Dean and Flo (McGalister) Blasengym.  She married Larry Lee Modlin on October 31, 1959 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1995.

     Marynell was raised in Michigan and graduated high school there.  She came to Nevada in 1992 from California and was a homemaker and also worked at Christian Healthcare for a time.  She enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR on TV, crocheting and being with her family.

    Survivors include her children, Vickie Smith (Junior), Maysville, MO, Leslie Roberts (Terry), Maysville, David Swan, El Dorado Springs, MO, Lorie Smith, El Dorado Springs, Suzanna Coonts (Jerry). El Dorado Springs, Paul Modlin (Angie), Bronaugh, MO, Kathy Case, Jimmy Wallace, and Donna Wallace, Independence all of Independence, MO; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sister Wilma Colwell Molalla, OR; her brother William Blasengym, Brooklyn, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; and son-in-law Terry Kessner, Maysville, and daughters-in-law, Kathy Modlin and Kristie Modlin, both of Nevada.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; two daughters, Mary Ann Kessner and Marie Cantrell and three sons, Otto Modlin, Bill Modlin, and Gary Coe; and a sister, Sue King.

    Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating.  Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada.   The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
