Norma Christine Purgerson

     Norma Christine Purgerson, 89, Nevada, MO passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Nathan Richards Health Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Norma was born October 2, 1935 in Echols, KY to Elbert L. and Jennie L. (Shaw) Gregory. She was united in marriage to Ollie Purgerson on July 21, 1958 in Owensboro, KY and he preceded her in death in 2017. 

     Norma was raised in Kentucky and came to El Dorado Springs in 2017. She loved her dogs, crocheting, fishing, and was an avid Bingo player.

     Survivors include her children: Karen Patterson (Jim), El Dorado Springs, MO, James Purgerson (Jeanne), Altamont, IL, Earl Purgerson (Dorothy), Stockton, MO, Darlinda Toothaker (Darren), El Dorado Springs, Penny Strassle (Bill), Independence, MO, and Verena Solley, Granite City, IL; 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Terrie Purgerson, Nokomis, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Ollie, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Purgerson; a daughter, Melva Purgerson; two sisters, and two brothers.

     A private family service will be held at a later date.
