Norman Eugene Talley

Norman Eugene Talley, 92, Nevada, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada.  Norman was born on March 7, 1931 in Billings, MO to Verl and Wilmuth (Breshears) Talley.    He married Ellen Kathryn Carl on April 1, 1950 in Aurora, MO and she survives.

Norman was raised in Crane, MO and graduated from Crane High School in 1949.  One year later he and Kathryn got married and Norman went to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad.  He transferred to Nevada in 1963 continuing to work for the railroad until his retirement. He was an avid golfer for many years and spent most of his days at the Nevada City Golf Course.

In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he is survived by  his daughter, Aletta Borders (Jim), and his son, Dennis Talley (Della), both of Nevada; eight grandchildren, Kyle Talley, Nevada, Ryan Talley (Kellie), Nevada, Seth Talley, Springfield, MO, Rachelle Renwick (Ryan), Nevada, Andrea Pyle (Jonathan), Caldwell, ID, Randy Borders (Katrina), Nevada, Tyler Borders (Jill), Nevada, and Scott Borders (Kristy), North Africa; 28 great-grandchildren; and two nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edna Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating.  Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery, Nevada.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  Friends may call from now until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Ferry Funeral Home.
